The best thing you can do is quiet the Substack noise and focus your energy on what will help you build a platform, produce your best work, and earn an income in the fastest, most efficient way possible.
Right now, that happens to be Notes.
About Notes:
Notes has become an amalgamation of other social media platforms but better and more genuine. It’s mostly Twitter with a dash of Instagram, a heaping dose of Facebook, and a drizzle of Linkedin.
Take advantage of the growth on Notes.
Please.
But don’t feel you have to be on there all the time.
You don’t.
About the algorithm:
The algorithm changes all the time.
The algorithm privileges engagement, not frequency, so please don’t post twenty times a day.
Without engagement, even the best laid Notes will be seen by no one.
Which is why I created the 21-day Notes Boost Challenge (June 4-25) for you to get engagement, experience organic growth, and connect with each other.
How to stay mentally healthy on Notes:
Notes is social media. It’s a good version of it, but it’s just social media. Take it with a grain of salt and don’t confuse it with your Substack.
“Viral” is relative.
“Going viral” isn’t necessary for Substack growth and earning an income. Substack is a long game; slow and steady growth is perfect.
The Notes below aren’t examples of what you should or shouldn’t write; they’re models of the structures and types of Notes getting traction right now.
