Substack is changing, and we have to change with it. It’s getting crowded and will continue to be more crowded, which isn’t a bad thing. But it will mean that having engaged subscribers and paying subscribers will demand a different (healthier, if I have anything to do with it) approach.
When we think of engaging our audience and being paid for our (very good) work, our (my) tendency is to want to do more. (I just fell prey to this as a matter of fact—as you may have seen from the calendar that went out the other day.)
Doing more is rarely the answer.
Doing less better and with more joy almost always is.
In planning tomorrow’s The Relaxing Way to Grow on Substack Workshop, I went for a very, very long walk, so what we’ll do comes from a wise and open place.
This is a 30-minute WORK-SHOP—not a dull, passive, listening-to-someone-talk Zoom blah session.
