Dear Sarah and hardworkin’ pals — everytime Sarah coaxes us to answer a prompt by saying, “I know this sounds corny,” she is definitely talking to me. I resist the urge to write down, “I want to become…. The sort of person who doesn’t give a shit about this!”
This time, I decided not to resist. And . . . Take away the swearing and I got to a real note, which was “Relax, Frankie.” My goal this summer is to enjoy the rapport I’m having here, reading the rare geniuses I find, and then reading some more. My six-year-old bookworm is going to run the show for awhile.
Oh my.. so need to hear this. Though I'm off yo care for my "charge", an older woman with dementia and close friend, this caught me and I needed to hear this. Goals??? I have them, make them juggle them around and mage origami butterfies of them lol. My Substack has grown, morphed and evolving all the time. I'm feeling pretty damn good about my posts yet, I know I can do better, thanks for this information and challenge. I tend to do things backwards, which is, admittedly forward for this dyslexic, it's just the way I roll. I'm brainstorming on creating a podcast where I would interview people on a topic that is dear to me. So this video has helped me give it more form and direction. Thank you
This is so timely. I'm having all sorts of website issues so I can't do anything there today. I've instituted a 3 tiered approach (Free; Minimal Charge-get video outtakes for marketing; Subscribe via Substack!) to my podcast. So far, the "Freebie" is winning which tells me that people do not have a clue about marketing themselves. So I'm rethinking everything. Why do I put so much effort and time into people who don't appreciate anything? This post has me seriously reflecting. Maybe it's time to reset some priorities!
Thank you Sarah (you are my first paid subscription on Substack) as I get serious about writing. Your teaching on Notes made me do a deep dive and made a post about that https://open.substack.com/pub/viralstack/p/100-most-viral-substack-notes-28june2025
I came for the kitty in your video preview but stayed for the message. Thanks

I love this, Sarah! Thank you for pushing us all to blow our expectations out of the water
