We—me and the boys—were in bed for the last couple of hours thinking about you and all the changes that are happening on Substack. I’ve been in and out of total excitement to total panic to, yeah, let’s do this.
Let’s go. This is going to be fun. Substack in 2025 is going to be a challenge. But it always has been.
I’ve been on this platform for half a decade. I’ve been through so many changes, and I’ve guided my clients and my subscribers through all of them. You’re in good hands.
There are a lot of changes coming. I want you to stay with me and be future-focused.
Think of your paid subscription to Substack Writers at Work as the resource you need to stay abreast of what’s happening. What I give you is cutting edge—totally of the moment.
You have to understand that this is my job. This is what I do for a living, and I have very high-profile clients I have to produce results for. I do that by producing results for them but also for you.
I have more of a stake in all of you than anybody else does. If you don’t succeed, I don’t succeed.
This week is exciting:
Tuesday, I’ll talk about the major shift that just happened on the platform, which is huge, on the backend that’s influencing all of us—what it means, what it is.
Friday will be a community event. Community events was how we grew before. They’re what made Substack this really amazing place. It was not through going viral.
This is all for paid subscribers.
I want this to be a tight community—a community of people who are invested. Not joining for a month just to go viral on Notes. That’s not the community I’m building. That’s not who we ever were.
Just go all in. Stay with me.
I’m always thinking of you. I had to make myself not think of you yesterday. It only lasted while I was watching this bizarre Australian show about people coming back from the dead. It’s very good. Highly recommended: The Glitch. It’s on Netflix.
Don’t miss the live pep talk above.
You’ve got this. We’re a team.
